Be A Master

Do you want to be constantly improving your skill at something that matters? It’s called ‘mastery,’ and it can be a process that provides a lifetime of satisfaction with your work.

But contrary to popular misconception, achieving mastery is a journey, not a destination. It’s a tough road filled with detours, obstacles, and setbacks. It requires clarity and courage. But it’s worth it! Mastery can give you an understanding of the direction of your life and your business goals. It can help you think creatively outside the box. And it can transform you into a role model whose leadership is highly valued.

Service Leadership 2017 is focused on self-discovery and personal development, and 18-year veteran of the contracting business, Jerry Rollins, will continue this learning experience with a closing keynote that explores the topic of mastery — what it means, what it takes to get it, and what you’ll get in return for all your hard work and dedication. He’ll outline an approach to mastery development that will get you and your team engaged in your work and motivated on a whole new level. You’ll leave the conference aligned, enthusiastic, and equipped to be a more effective leader.

But you will only learn the skills you need to get on the path to mastery, if you attend Service Leadership 2017, taking place October 26 and 27 in New Orleans, LA. So, Sign up now — prices increase as time goes by, there is only limited space, and we expect the meeting to sell out.

Nominate Your Service Manager of the Year!

You know you have the best service manager in the industry. That is why they work for you! So why not give them the recognition they deserve?

You might be wondering how you can do that: A huge raise? An extra week of paid vacation? A night out on the town at your expense?

While all those things would be great, there are other ways that you can show your manager appreciation and give them the national recognition they deserve. That’s where ACCA’s Service Manager of the Year Award comes in.

The Service Manager of the Year Award is the perfect opportunity for contracting company owners, presidents, and general manager to nominate their service manager to receive national recognition for their leadership and performance. All they have to do is fill out the online nomination form and submit it to ACCA by August 31,  2017.

The nomination process is easy and it gives contractors the chance to highlight the qualities their service manager possesses that have helped their company thrive. This is not the place for generic comments like, “He’s a great guy!” or “She’s very helpful.” We want you to share the specific reasons that make you feel that your service manager is an ideal candidate, such as:

  • What makes him/her a leader among his/her peers?
  • How has he/she made a positive impact on your business, your employees, your customers?
  • What programs has he/she implemented to improve productivity in the service department?

All nominees that are part of a company that is an ACCA member in good standing, are eligible for the award.  The nominees will be vetted by a panel of contractors, who will base their decision on the write-ups provided in the application process.

The award will be presented during Service Leadership 2017 taking place October 26 & 27 in New Orleans, so nominees should register for the event now, so that they get the lowest registration price and guarantee that they are there, if they are selected for the award.

So, don’t wait another minute! Nominate your service manager for the Service Manager of the Year Award.

Lead All The Generations

Right now there are more generations in the workplace than at any other time in history. Between the Boomers, Gen Xers, Millennials (or Gen Y), and Generation Z; businesses have the unique challenge of trying to get all these varying groups to work together towards the common goal of being a profitable service company.

But with so many different generations, with vastly different work ethics and priorities, how does a business owner leverage those qualities and get them to work together?

During ACCA’s Service Leadership 2017, Jason Young, a former high level Southwest Airlines Executive, is going to give attendees the strategies and tried and tested methods to do just that.

Young says, that each generation learns, values, thinks, develops differently, and must be led differently. Yet each generation has common ground, which managers can leverage and build on. He encourages leaders not to judge, but to coach and mange each generational group with intentionally. He is going to share the difference between each of the generations, as well as their motivations and how to get them to work together. By following his techniques, you will be better able to  manage the various generations in a way that helps create and sustain a high performance workplace.

But you can only get these strategies, if you attend Service Leadership 2017, taking place October 26 and 27 in New Orleans, LA. So, Sign up now — prices increase as time goes by, there is only limited space, and we expect the meeting to sell out.
